National Parliamentary Library of Georgia - Collection of conversational phrases in Georgian with English translations for 10 different occasions. 

Translate.ge - Online translation tool in Georgian and English.

101 Languages - Georgian language course designed by the U.S. Peace Corps for its English-speaking volunteers.



Study Abroad Resources


Programs

American Councils - American Councils for International Education hosts language programs and study abroad programs in over 90 different countries. American Councils offers a program in Tbilisi, Georgia where students can learn Georgian and Chechen.  

Critical Language Scholarship - The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) is a U.S. Department of State summer program that offers American college and university students the opportunity to learn languages essential to America’s engagement with the world. CLS recipients have the entire cost of their summer program covered and are provided a small stipend. The CLS Russian language program run by American Councils is ocassionally held inTbilisi, Georgia. 

Fulbright - The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers research study and teaching opportunities in over 140 countries to recent graduates and graduate students. The Fulbright offers a number of English Teaching Assistant Awards and Research Awards to Georgia each year. 

Peace Corps - The Peace Corps is an independent agency and volunteer program run by the United States Government that provides international social and economic developmental assistance. The Peace Corps runs a program in Georgia where volunteers can work with communities on projects in economic development and english education. They also learn to speak Georgian. 



Funding


American Councils Scholarships -  American Councils offer a variety of scholarships to students participating in their programs. Scholarships include: Fulbright-Hays, AC Study Abroad Alumni Scholarship, AC Study Abroad Diversity Scholarship, AC Study Abroad Language and Area Studies Expert Scholarship, AC Study Abroad Need-Based Scholarship, and the Dan E. Davidson Fellowship. 

Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship - The Gilman scholarship is a grant program that enables students of limited financial means to study or intern abroad, thereby gaining skills critical to U.S. national security and economic competitiveness. The Gilman is funded by the U.S. State Department.  

David L. Boren Scholarship and Fellowship - The Boren provides generous funding to U.S. undergraduate and graduate students to study abroad in areas of the world that are critical to U.S. interests. Boren Scholarships and Fellowships are funded by the National Security Education Program and can be used to fund most study abroad programs.

The Foreign Language and Areas Studies Fellowships  -  FLAS Fellowships program provides allocations of academic year and summer fellowships to institutions of higher education to assist meritorious undergraduate and graduate students undergoing training in modern foreign languages and related areas or international studies. Eligible students apply for fellowships directly to an institution that has received an allocation of fellowships from the U.S. Department of Education. Many U.S. institutions offer FLAS fellowships and they can be used to cover study abroad programs.
